Wes Craven, Scoopmeister

You’ve got to hand it to Wes Craven. Not only is he directing perhaps the greatest horror sequel ever (can you blame our excitement? It’s stacking up like Scream 2 on steroids), but he’s in a position to give fans peeks into Scream 4 that make most scoopers’ finds seem like fool’s gold. Here’s the latest crimson reminder. So click the thumbnails and take a long, loving high-res gaze at the before and after of a “blood” shoot.

Reader Advisory: Comments may contain SCREAM 4 SPOILERS
  1. He is totally the Spoiler King!

  2. What I’ve always liked about the Scream movies is that they’re violent and bloody but not over the top violent like torture porn movies. So far the first 3 movies had a decent amount of blood and violence not so much in the third film, so I wonder if this fourth installment will keep the same level of violence as the first 2 and even 3. And judging by this picture I think it’s almost safe to assume the movie will have an “R” rating.

  3. But it also may be influenced by how many horror films have a PG-13 rating nowadays. So who knows. But I can’t imagine any Scream movie with a PG-13 rating.

  4. If it weren’t for the language and the opening kill with Cotton, Scream 3 probably would’ve been PG-13.

  5. Francisco,

The word you’re looking for is sophistication.

Scream is classy horror fun. It’s sophisticatedly written, shot, acted, and directed. The first Scream was a masterpiece. I don’t care what anyone says. That move was an instant classic.

If this movie can capture half of the magic of Scream expect an AVALANCHE of box office success. And another trilogy. Bet on it.
