Dimension Throw Down The Fan Art Gauntlet

With Scream 4 well into radio silence, Dimension have begun to populate their Facebook with assorted activity in an effort to keep the franchise on your mind until the high publicity machine kicks into gear in the next few months. One post caught our attention today – the fan poster featured here, with the caption “Check out this fan-made SCREAM 4 poster found by Ethan Drew! Can you do better?”

Now, it’s a great ‘pop’ take on Scream, no doubts there. But Dimension’s social media team have singled it out as a high standard to beat, so forgive us for thinking it’s a perhaps mediocre affair compared to others, like those of ‘themadbutcher’ that we covered a few months back, still to this day believed to be official releases by many lazy journalists. He really deserves some official recognition for his efforts, wouldn’t you say?

Reader Advisory: Comments may contain SCREAM 4 SPOILERS
  1. No. The new red poster is a lot more elegant. I always hated the smoky looking Ghostface/Scream 4 fan poster.

  2. I love both of them! He definitely deserves recognition! They both could be real posters.

  3. i like the smokey ghost better than the red, works much better with the others, and black and red have similar weight and wouldnt translate well in black and white…

  4. There’s heaps better in the Fan Media section of the forum on this Site.

  5. There’s heaps better in the Fan Media section of the forum on this Site.

  6. Blows the two madbutcher ones out of the water.

  7. It reminds me of some of the Black Swan posters.

  8. I think this poster is pretty cool however i like the other two fan-made posters more though.

  9. I’m posting as a guest to test my facebook connection.

  10. It’s cool seeing my poster on the official facebook page, and I’m amazed it’s gotten noticed at all. I appreciate all the comments on it, good and bad.

  11. The bottom 2 are more in sync with the previous style. So I prefer those 2.

  12. The haters are just jealous!

  13. I agree with you ! I think the other two are a better choice. But the red and black poster is still really cool.

  14. I tend to agree with Dimension. This new “pop art” poster is much more interesting than the mystifyingly popular madbutcher posters. They’re just amateur imitations of what was already a pretty uninspired formula to begin with.

  15. Yep, the more I look at it, the more I like it. VERY COOL.

  16. Thanks to the webmaster for featuring my artwork again! As for this poster, it’s alright, but I think it’s too bland to be considered “iconic minimalism” which I think the artist was going for.

I think it’s unfair to all the other fans who made “Scream 4″ art to only feature this piece on the official feed. Again, it’s very good, but it would’ve been nice to see more.

And he stole my cast billing block haha
