Scream Blu-Ray Boxset Back Cover Surfaces

The Blu-ray box hits on Tuesday. With the front cover being a simplistic affair, the back runs along the same lines. Being so text-heavy, it is somewhat handicapped by leaving out listings for the extras contained within – but thankfully don’t sell Still Screaming and Scream: The Inside Story too short.

Synopsis:

Scream
After a series of mysterious deaths befalls their small town, an offbeat group of friends led by Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) become the target of a masked killer in this smash-hit “clever thriller” (The Washington Post) that launched the Screamfranchise and breathed new life into the horror genre.

Scream 2
Away at college, Sidney Prescott (Campbell) thought she’d finally put the shocking murders that shattered her life behind her…until a copycat killer begins acting out a real-life sequel. Now, as history repeats itself, ambitious reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), deputy Dewey (David Arquette) and other Scream survivors find themselves trapped in a terrifyingly clever plotline where no one is safe – or beyond suspicion – in this “delicious, diabolical and fun” (Rolling Stone) sequel.

Scream 3
While Sidney Prescott (Campbell) lives in safely guarded seclusion, bodies begin dropping around the Hollywood set of “Stab 3,” the latest movie based on the gruesome Woodsboro killings. The escalating terror finally brings Sidney out of hiding, drawing her and the other survivors once again into an insidious game of horror movie mayhem that’s a “suspenseful, clever and very entertaining” (NBC-TV) installment in the wildly popular Scream franchise.

Still Screaming: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective
In 1996, Kevin Williamson’s screenplay (originally called Scary Movie) was brought to the screen by Wes Craven. Intended to pay homage to the grandfather of slasher films, Halloween, while also creating a new horror franchise, the movie Scream single-handedly revived the slasher genre for a new generation of audiences. Still Screaming combines extensive interviews with cast and crew from Scream 1-4, film clips and footage, as well as rare photos and behind-the-scenes film, to track how this smart franchise reinvigorated a dull and outdate genre with a smart mix of social commentary, self-awareness, humor and scares – to cement itself alongside such major horror franchises as Friday The 13th.

Scream: The Inside Story
When Scream was unleashed in theaters, it shattered box office records for horror, introduced director Wes Craven to new audiences and turned screenwriter Kevin Williamson and the film’s hot young cast into overnight stars. In this 90-minute including how Craven originally didn’t want to direct the film, and how the production met with delays and objections to its violent content. Despite these obstacles and meager expectations from the industry, learn how Scream went on to beat the odds, becoming one of the most successful horror franchises in history.

Reader Advisory: Comments may contain SCREAM 4 SPOILERS
  1. Any news on this coming out in the UK?

  2. I want the deleted scenes from the first scream

  3. I was at my local best buy 2 hours ago and they had the set there. Since mine shipped today from amazon I did not buy the set. It is just 1 thick jewel case with all the disks. It has a slip cover, and the beneath the slip cover was the same artwork. I have to admit that in person the set seemed to be a cheaply made set, similar to the newest nightmare on elm street set.

  4. It’s obvious that about as much thought and time went into this as LG put into the release of the first three. The films are literally the same as were released earlier this year with the fourth disc thrown in. If it weren’t for the inclusion of ‘Still Screaming,’ I’d be passing.

For $20, though, what do you expect?

  5. @yago I agree. It would also be great if they also had the screen tests from the actors from the 1st Film. ive seen some minor footage of it from Scream: The Inside Story. It would be nice to see the rest.

@curtis @ghostsofjoy Figures, Lionsgate is just releasing all of the films that they now own to gain some profit. Why they dont give the time to amplify the products or advertise (especially with tv spots), Bothers me. Oh well, at least we’re getting a damn bluray boxset.

  6. Curtis, What Best buy had the box set?

  7. I know this may sound dumb, but can you play Bu-rays on a DVD player?

Andare the two docs blu-rays also?

  8. @Alex Lush, no you can’t play blu-ray’s on a DVD player. You need an hDTV, a blu-ray player, and an HDMI cable to connect the two.

  9. @Tony .. The box set was at the jefferson city missouri best buy. They always have new releases out early

  10. @ Curtis, Oh I see. Damn. I live in LA, CA. Okay Thanks for the info & response.

  11. Wonder if we’ll ever get an Unrated cut of the first one on bluray…

  12. I like it. Simple.

  13. @jamie, no it wont as hmv already has the blu ray boxset out, the same looking set except no still screaming or documentaries. But you can buy it off playusa.com, if your blurays region free ps3s are. I ordered this set and scream 4 us blu, with exchange rates only cost me £35 for the two including delivery.

  14. sorry didnt mean to say ps3s are region free, not true.

  15. Is this on dvd too?

  16. @steve nope and its unlikely to ever be.

  17. I ordered the 5 disc set from movietyme.com and it arrived last Friday to Scottish highlands the discs are region locked so you need a region a player to play them
