The goal for TWC is to have four to six wide releases a year and at least a half-dozen other limited releases, both in-house productions and acquisitions.

The company’s next wide release will be “Piranha 3-D,” opening Aug. 20 in more than 2,000 domestic theaters with a marketing campaign of about $30 million. Apparently, TWC has been able to book the number of 3D screens it needs.

That will mark the first movie in a renewal of the Dimension division run by Bob Weinstein. Other sequel titles being developed include “Hellraiser” and “Children of the Corn.”

Wide releases are planned for “Scream 4″ in April and then “Spy Kids 4″ in August 2011, both now in production with budgets of about $40 million each. In active development for wide release are sequels to “Scary Movie” and “Halloween,” among others.

Best not to take the recent weeks’ smorgasbord of location photos for granted – because by our count, the team have gotten some major exteriors out of the way – naturally leaving more segregated and interior scenes to fill the greater amount of time ahead.

These photos were taken just outside a designated studio zone in Dexter, MI where shooting took place within the past 24 hours. A whole lot of nothing – but good to get the lay of the land. Thanks go out to the relentless Bananadoc.

Randy was such a beloved character that bit the dust halfway through the trilogy. So we could kinda sorta maybe suspend disbelief to accept him back in the form of another message from the grave, as in Scream 3.

Let’s talk in a fictional context for a moment: We never saw the whole videotape. Randy veered off into trilogy rules in that event that exposition was hitting the heroes. So surely he would have also included rules for “just another sequel” to account for that possibility.

Okay, we admit it. It’s a stretch. But remember, The Meekster did also record his Rules For Other Genres – a point not currently canon, as it hit the cutting room floor. It could still come back into play if utilized correctly. It’s just too good material to bury in a deleted scenes supplement, which is why it didn’t turn up in the previous special editions.

But as for new scenes? No, sir. Randy isn’t coming back in flesh nor analogue. Jamie Kennedy has reaffirmed this to the Miami Herald, which offered up the quote today:

“I was talking to [screenwriter] Kevin Williamson the other day, and he told me, `You’re still dead.’ So as much as people say I’m coming back, I think I’m dead.”

A new article today from Hometown Life doesn’t offer any new details, being more of a piece relevant to locals – detailing the aftermath of Scream 4 blowing through Plymouth. They did include this nice new profile shot of Courteney Cox Arquette, which we liked.

Wes Craven has been relating dangerous weather conditions in Michigan during the latest round of Scream 4 shooting  – “Our 2nd AD’s car was struck by a flying trampoline! The wind today was out of control.”

Everyone is okay and everything is back on track, thankfully. Craven has lightened the mood by posting the following photo which appears to be a Casey Becker effigy inside a barn. He deadpanned in the caption: “Actors frequently spill their guts to me.”

So many possibilities of guilt or innocence come to mind, that these pics aren’t really spoilers at all – if anything, they hammer home how very little we really know about Scream 4. And that’s the fun part of watching each new film, walking in thinking we know everything – then being utterly surprised at what Team Scream have really been cooking.

According to reports, here’s the lowdown on the Barn. Warning: if true, this is a huge download of Scream 4 info.

This last photo was taken on the 21st. According to Timothy the pic is a Ghost Face Scarecrow in front of the barn set on Saline Waterworks Rd earlier today, looks like they are setting up/filming a part scene and these scare crows were all over the property along with party lights strung up.

Updated information: Looks like the setting is a Stab-A-Thon party, they started shooting after dark with Courtney Cox arriving in the gold car to the party, there was lots of extras in the party that where dressed as the Ghost Face killer, Courtney was filmed putting on the Ghost Face mask as she exited the car to sneack into the party. Thanks again Tim for going out there!!

We smell an official police statement, with much belt-adjusting which imbues confidence in the community.

Whose house is this, the mayor of Woodsboro’s? Doesn’t seem to be the Prescott House, though that had an extended landing around the side/back in Scream.

Suddenly it’s 1997 all over again. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette have been photographed for an upcoming Entertainment Weekly spread and Mr. Arquette was kind enough to drop a sneak peak at the session.

Wes Craven continues to be gracious to his fans – he posted the following photo, noting “Had a great day in Plymouth, MI, today. It was wonderful to meet some fans.”
