They (the camera) focus on the gun following the wreck, but they never show Sidney doing so. Thus, it's easy to assume she doesn't notice it, considering how distracted she is.

We'll never know for sure if she noticed it or not, but given the close proximity she was in to it I find it a little hard to believe she didn't spot it at all.

I guess not. Considering they never show her actively noticing it, I find it hard to believe she did.

She certainly could've noticed it, but it's something we may never know for sure. If she did notice it she may have been more concerned with unmasking Ghostface.

I agree, she could have noticed it, easily. It was in plain sight, as you said. However, since they never show her noticing it and considering her situation, it's easy to believe she simply doesn't.

I don't know, I think the gun was close enough and in good enough lighting to be pretty easy to spot.

Sure, it probably was. Still, given Sid's mindset at the time, it's believable that she could overlook it.

And since they never show her noticing it, I wouldn't assume she did.

My favorite part of Scream 2 was that finale. And when CiCi was killed, although I love her and her character. <3

The opening is easily the best part for me. I tell ya, that very last scene still gives me chills every damn time.

I thought Hallie and Derek's deaths could've been more climactic, but that's really my biggest complaint. I'd also like to have seen a bigger role for Joel so that he could really be considered one of the survivors or victims.

The film would've benefit from more scenes with Sarah Michelle Gellar.

The film is still amazing in my opinion. Really could care less about these changes, but what the hey.

What could have been more climactic about Derek's death? His death scene reveals one of the killers and Sidney's reaction to it is incredibly sad and heartfelt.

Also, to add my own dislikes (since I thoroughly enjoyed almost the entire film), I wish they had stuck to Kevin's original script and had Gale (instead of Hallie, of course), walking into the theater as Sidney approaches. Her showing up there is too convient. That, or I wish Mickey had chased her there or knocked her out and got her there.

I liked :

-Gael's chase scene
-Cici's call and death scene
-The cop car scene
-The opening
-Randy's death (not the scene itself, but the fact they dared)
-The killers were better than in S1 imo-
-Mickey, Mrs.Loomis and Hallie

Disliked :

-Dewey being a survivor despite having been stabbed... again
-Derek
-Lois and Murphy not being victims while they could have been great ones
-Mickey being the killer wasn't a big surprise

So much I like about this. I'll just name the flaws:

Hallie and Mickey could have been slighty better written.

Cici sequence could've been a little more creative.

I loved the "sequel" angle they played, but I could have lived without the lame fight scene between Sidney and Mrs. Loomis.

opening double murder

Cici's scene and death

Sidney rehearsing in the play when Ghostface was there or not there? can be taken both ways

Gale's slow moving chase scene in the studio with the maze walls while Ghostface was stalking her

Randy's death scene (a shock was needed)

Ghostface killing the cop then hijacking the car with Sidney & Hallie inside,(other cops head gets impaled on a pole which was also nice) also both of them have to climb over him to get out , oh the tension

Sidney axing the ropes in the finale to make various things fall down was cool

dislikes
Derek singing I think I love you in to Sidney in the cafeteria, absolute embarrassment I HATE that scene so much

Dewey getting stabbed again & surviving again

all the new characters were annoying

Mickey banging on about the trail

Derek going in playing the hero after Ghostface tries to attack Sidney & the faces & noises he makes when people are seeing to his well deserved slashed arm

Dewey's hatred & hostility towards Gail all of a sudden (they were lovvie dovey in the first)

Dewey's limp was OTT bordering on annoying
