Roman faked his death in the basement and later Gale went there and saw his body and checked his pulse and when Jennifer asked her
Is he dead?
- Yeah, very.

I mean he faked his death but how did he stopped his pulse?

He could maybe have used a prosthetic arm or something - I mean, he was in a basement full of movie props. Or Gale was that freaked out that she didn't feel properly and just thought he was dead.

Every time I watch that scene I get the urge to wipe out the massive flob that just hit me in the eye. Just pure shoddy story telling.

Hold your arm over your head for 10 minutes. Once the blood stops getting to your arm...your pulse dies. Try it!

That sounds scary. I don't want my arm to fall off...

I saw it done live on television about a decade ago

The person put a stress ball under their armpit and basically forced their arm to their side for a afew minutes, the reporter felt his wrist and confirmed he had no pulse.

This is also the anecdote Wes Craven provided.

Seriously?
Now I'm wondering why people are still asking about it.

Actually, I went back and listened to the commentary track. Patrick Lussier says that Wes showed him, and Wes said that you just put pressure on the artery going down your arm. I guess I just added the ball part in my imagination. They said they took it out of the script because it was too long of an explanation and it didn't fit the flow of the reveal.

Which probably explains why they had Gale check his pulse on his wrist instead of his neck/ jugular.

The commentary is a great source of information. I can't believe how many who have yet to listen to the commentary on any of the Scream films. It's a lot of fun.

croboy82, yes it did for one of the few times.

You should! It's a good investment even just for the commentary.

I thought it was a dummy hence Gale felt no pulse, if it was the real Roman if he was faking it Gale would have felt a pulse
